I had to redo my flooring and decided to go with Luxury Vinyl Planks (LVP) for ease of installation and durability. I received a quote for $22,000 to redo my entire home, and the LVP would be glued down.
So…I decided to do it myself!
My 1952 home came with outdated carpet. I ripped out all the carpet and found hardwood and cork tiles underneath (yay!). I ripped out the cork tiles and decided that LVP is what I’ll need in my home. I left the hardwood flooring to lay LVP over.
I shopped EVERYWHERE and considered so many brands, such as Flooret, Mohawk (at Costco), and even Home Depot brands.
I eventually found myself on Wayfair and was surprised to find out they had flooring!
I shopped during Way Day (typically around the end of April & October) and was able to get my flooring for less than $4,500 to install in my 1,800-square-foot home.

I opted for this LVP option from Ackland (the actual supplier is MSI Surfaces, and my colorway is Bayhill Blonde). It has optional accessories, such as moldings, trims, stair treads, etc.
I purchased my underlayment from Home Depot for the 1st floor (basement in a split-level) concrete surface.
Wayfair Pros
- The ordering process was very easy! I added to cart, added my credit card, and checked out within minutes.
- Very fast freight shipping! I received my order 4 days after I ordered. I was texted regarding my delivery window and was able to intercept the delivery person. They had a truck and a lift to help get my items to a secure place on my property.
- It was easy to find what I needed online. Their categories and search feature make it easy to find what you’re looking for with a few keywords.
- They offer annual deals! Way Day happens twice a year (in April & October). They also have Black Friday deals.
- Introductory 10% coupon code for new customers. Sign up for their Wayfair account here to receive a coupon code.
- Wishlist feature – Having an account allows you to add items to your wishlist. I have plenty of home items that I would love to buy in the future.
- They also have a rewards program that costs $29 annually. The benefit of joining the program is that you receive 5% back on all purchases. This is a great deal considering decent flooring will cost you anywhere between $4,500 to $10,000. 5% of a large order is a huge chunk of change that you can use on future orders.

- Some of my flooring arrived damaged. I was able to replace those boxes thanks to their customer service team.

Should I Shop at Wayfair?
Absolutely! Shopping here was so easy! I joined their member rewards program ($29 annually) and received $208 cash back on my order.
I can’t really think of why I would not go with Wayfair. I had such a pleasant experience and would definitely consider them for a future home renovation project.
