What to Wear for Cherry Blossom Photos
#1 All the Dresses!
We love a good flowy dress! And if you can spin in it, even better!
We recommend going with neutral and bright colors. We love white, blues, pinks, reds, and khakis.
Patterns are also a great option! We love watercolor and floral patterns. They go with cherry blossoms perfectly!
We tend to avoid black unless there is a specific look you are going for.
Some of our favorite flowy dress brands include:
- Selkie
- Abercrombie & Fitch
- REVOLVE
- ASTR the Label
- Free People
- Anthropologie
- Show Me Your Mumu
- En Saison

#2 Wear All White
All white is perfect for cherry blossoms! The white blends in with the pink cherry blossoms. It also makes photos bright and lively.
#3 Wear a Kimono or Yakuta
Since cherry blossoms are originally from Japan, you should wear a Kimono or Yakuta to take photos.
Kimonos are traditional and formal Japanese attire. It often comes with multiple layers, and the fabrics are very luxurious and detailed.
A Yakuta is much more casual. It’s typically made from cotton or lightweight fabrics in solid colors or printed patterns. They are much easier to put on and tend to be more comfortable to wear all day long.
#4 Go MAXIMALIST!
Maximalist fashion will get you noticed! Your photos will also stand out.
We love a chunky cardigan sweater with whimsical appliques or bold prints that come alive on your person.
Don’t be afraid to wear something BOLD.
